Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability
In consideration of the fees paid, including participation in free training sessions or non-fee events, the participant acknowledges that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, self defense, and other activities participated at Rio Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense involves inherent risks of injury. The participant voluntarily assumes all risks and agrees to release and hold harmless Rio Ventures LLC (DBA Rio Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense), including its owners, instructors, employees, and affiliates, from any claims or liability arising from participation.
The participant agrees to follow all safety instructions and confirms they are physically able to participate. Only basic first aid will be provided if necessary.

Media Release
Permission is granted for Rio Jiu Jitsu to use photographs, video, or audio recordings for promotional purposes without compensation.

Participant Acknowledgment

  • Not under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Physically able to train
  • 18+ or guardian consent

Membership Terms
Month-to-month recurring membership. 48-hour notice required prior to billing cycle to cancel via email or text. A verbal notice is not sufficient.
A $100 cancellation fee will be charged for all cancellations & holds
No refunds on prior payments.

Rio Jiu Jitsu reserves the right to change policies without notice.

Rio Jiu Jitsu – Code of Conduct & School Guidelines

Please read carefully! We take pride in our school, our students, and our community. We count on you to follow these easy guidelines. If you have any questions, see one of the professors or coaches.

Parents: No coaching from the side. It is distracting to students and causes confusion.

  • Check your attitude and ego at the door. Ego is the enemy.
  • Drug-free facility. Do not enter under the influence or with strong odor.
  • No food or drink on mats. No smoking inside or around facility.
  • Stay home if sick.
  • Use control with training partners.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
  • No shoes on mats. Footwear required off mats.
  • Wash hands after restroom use.
  • Keep belongings off mats and stored properly.
  • Clean uniforms and trimmed nails required.
  • Wash gear after each session.
  • No jewelry. No training with infections.
